Coín has an extensive monumental heritage, a legacy of the different towns that occupied the city throughout its history. Many of the monuments found in the center have been declared an Asset of Cultural Interest by the Junta de Andalucía (Former Convent of Santa María de la Encarnación in 2008, Church of San Juan Bautista in 2010) in addition to the hermitage of Ntra Mrs. de la Fuensanta in Río Pereila, declared BIC in 2012.
The crochet sky is an initiative to beautify the historic centre and protect residents and visitors from the sun on one of the main pedestrian streets.
More than 30 people have voluntarily participated in this municipal initiative.
The Former Convent of Santa María de la Encarnación houses several exhibition rooms, some of them permanent, such as the ceramic rooms of local artists, the municipal archaeological room, and other temporary rooms.
