The transfer of the Virgin from the Church of San Juan Bautista to her hermitage takes place on May 1. The whole town comes out to say goodbye to her and accompany her to her sanctuary, where the sacred image remains until the first Sunday of June.

On the first Saturday of June in the morning, the pilgrims leave in carts towards the hermitage, very well dressed for the occasion. Both carts pulled by oxen and tractors participate. The pilgrims spend the whole day on Saturday and the night in the "Llano de las Marías", where a mass is celebrated in honor of the patron saint on Saturday afternoon. Already on Sunday afternoon between songs, dances and joy the winning cart takes the patron saint of Coín back to her church.
