The Hospital de la Caridad together with its annexed chapel date from the 16th century. Centuries later, the chapel became a church, becoming what we know as the Church of San Andrés and, at the beginning of the 19th century, it became a parish.
Since its inauguration in 2015, there are many people who come to this place every Sunday to make their purchases from different parts of Malaga's geography.
The church rises above the space occupied by the old aljama mosque, converted into a Catholic temple in 1485 after the capture of Coín, thus being the first parish church in the town.
